Project Brief

Learning to See

The goal of this project was to train my visual eye and translate what I see through different mediums. From photography to quick sketches to vector art to screen prints, and so on… Each step of the way has been experimental. As I continue to build on this project, it has been fun seeing how far I can take a simple idea all the way to production.

Process

Inspired by Southeast Asian Culture

I hope to travel across all of Southeast Asia in my lifetime. Early 2025, I visited Thailand for the first time. As a Filipino, I loved seeing the similarities and differences between the two cultures.

Camera: DJI Osmo Pocket 3
Edited on Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom

From Sketch to Vector

I chose to illustrate a tiger in a style that resembled boldness, assertiveness, and determination.

Tools Used: Procreate, Adobe Illustrator

Screen Printing

This was my first time screen printing. Many trial and errors.

A NASA-provided Sample Retrieval Lander (far right) would carry a NASA rocket (the Mars Ascent Vehicle), and a second lander, pictured in the background, would carry ESA’s Sample Fetch Rover (center), which is a little smaller than a golf cart.
